Antique Porn was my first attempt at recording, done in a dingy little basement apartment in Missoula, MT, with the help of my friend Tom Van Dyke. We must have done all the tracks straight through without a break, and then very little editing or mastering afterwards. As I remember, the mic stand was a broom proped between two chairs, and a thick layer of duct tape.
I actually did the recording in 2000 and started passing out tapes to anyone who wanted a copy, but it wasn't until 2002 that I decided to package it and sell it.
Andy Smetanka, of the Missoula Independent called Antique Porn "The Low-brow hit of the year" which I thought was kind, especially now as I listen to the tracks and write this note. I think I may go back and revisit some of these songs in the future, but for the moment I'm working on different material about a different time in my life.
For any of you die hard fans who think that I may dig up the Fuq Ninja album, Liquid Panty Remover, and put it up on here, just keep dreaming, and for any of you who have a copy of that album, please give it back.
Also, for anyone who had an original copy of this album, you'll notice that I've omitted a song: Breath. I was never really happy with the song in the first place, and have never felt that it was entirely finished. I know there are a lot of technical errors in this album, but I think that raw aspect is what gives it a life of its own, but Breath was just too annoying for me to forgive, so I've dropped it.
